Oral pathology is a specialty of dentistry which includes dental anatomy, histology, embryology & pathology. Clinical dentistry is largely based on the foundation of study of Dental anatomy and histology.
The practice of oral pathology includes research, diagnosis of diseases using clinical, radiographic, microscopic, biochemical or other examinations. It occupies a unique position in the health care community for the dental as well as medical professions. A thorough knowledge obtained from this subject will help to correlate human biology with signs and symptoms of human disease. This will help to understand oral disease so that it can be properly diagnosed and adequately treated.

Total area of around 4149sq. ft. which includes
- Spacious undergraduate oral pathology Dental anatomy & histology practical hall.
- Spacious post graduate histopathology laboratory and department.
Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology
The department is well equipped with two large practical halls for the undergraduate students, each for dental anatomy/histology and for oral pathology; a seminar room for the postgraduates, museum displaying numerous dental anatomy and oral pathology specimens, departmental library having more than 100 books including the latest editions.
The histopathology lab has the facility for tissue processing procedures and special staining techniques. An array of modern equipments like semiautomatic microtome, research microscope with phase contrast, polarising, fluorescent, CCTV & photomicrography attachments and a pentahead microscope for slide discussions.
